Homemade Face Cream for Oily or Dry Skin

I have very oily skin and no it didn't go away after puberty or even when I started eating healthy.  I had acne in small amounts for most of my life even though I tried every product on the market to control oil and treat my skin.  If you are any thing like me you are probably game to try any new facial products in hopes that you can wake up in the morning without that dirty oily sheen on your face.  The essential oil you use in this recipe is what will make all the difference.  Palmarosa is the best oil I have found to use in the recipe for your face care.  Palmarosa balances the sebum glands on your face which helps them produce an appropriate amount of oil.  It also helps generate new cell growth helping any scarring you may have.   I have had amazing success with this face cream recipe.  I put it on just before bedtime and when I wake up my face is not covered with oil as it used to be.  It also doesn't clog my pores so I have not seen an increase in breakouts.
Here is the recipe... Let me know how yours turns out!!

1/2 Cup Almond, Grapeseed or Olive oil
(you can use any one oil or combine two or more to get to your 1/2 cup)
1/4 Cup Distilled Water mixed with 1/4 tsp or taking soda
1 tsp shea butter (optional)
1/2 tsp Jojoba Oil (optional)
1 tsp coconut oil
1/2 tsp honey
2 T beeswax
10-20 drops of Palmarosa essential oil

Mix the beesewax and oil in a double broiler until melted.  Heat the water and baking soda until close to boiling.  Pour oil mixture into a bowl and pour the water slowly into the oil as you mix it with a hand mixer or blender.  Beat until it is cool then store in an airtight container.  If your cream is not thick enough, next time add more beeswax and try using a coconut oil in a more solid form.

I left out the two optional ingredients because I didn't have them and it turned out wonderfully!!

Enjoy!

  5. Thanks for sharing this homemade cream... Seems easy to be made, so I will try it when I won't be that busy. But until then, I'm continuing to use a cream similar to your recipe, but not homemade... this one: http://www.canadathestore.com/products/beeswax-skin-cream. It's quite useful, but I want to see if I will do a cream by myself, I will have the same results with my skin? I will be back :)

  10. People with oily skin must not pick at it. They also must resist popping their pimples. They should always use gentle skin creams and moisturizers. A gel-based cleanser and oil blotting paper will help “dry” excess oil.

They also must use a sunscreen (made for oily skin) because the sun absolutely fertilizes acne-prone skin and makes acne break out in full bloom. They should buy products that are specifically intended to fight oily skin.thoroughageexperts.net website

  13. I notice that your recipe does not contain preservatives or emulsifiers. Does your cream separate since oil and water does not mix and what is the shelf life without preservatives.
